Whilst numerous factors contribute to the appearance and severity of facial ageing in an individual, the process of facial deterioration is fairly predictable and follows a pattern called the “3 D’s”.
We treat the 3 D’s with a multi-pronged approach, involving several different types of therapies used in unison. Threads are a fine synthetic fibre made of a material called Polydioxanone which has a long history of safe and reliable use in surgery as “stitches” to close wounds. This material will dissolve over time and be completely eliminated by the body. Traditionally the only reliable treatment available for loose skin was a surgical facelift. Threads now offer a non-surgical, injectable alternative to traditional surgical facelift procedures as well as helping to improve skin health. We offer 2 thread options based on what treatment is needed; Mono Threads- used for skin rejuvenation, tightening and reconditioning. Treats fine lines and wrinkles by improving skin texture and stimulation of collagen. Cog Threads- used for reduction of mild-moderate skin laxity by providing mechanical support and physically lifting sagging tissues. Areas that are commonly treated include; cheek and mid face, eyebrow lifting, lower face, jawline, jowl and neck lifting, nasolabial fold reduction, corners of the mouth, reduction of lip lines, nose projection and elevation, generalised skin tightening and reconditioning across the entire face.
Skin deterioration is what is commonly mistaken as signs of ageing, however they are really signs that the skin is losing its health and vitality. Skin deterioration is a reflection of the varied cumulative effects of various internal and external factors, unique to each individual, over time. Whilst some degree of skin deterioration is inevitable with age and genetics, various factors can increase the onset and severity of both the physical and visible changes seen as skin ages and becomes unhealthy. Smoking, medication, poor diet, sun exposure, stress, facial muscle activity and poor facial hygiene can all contribute. Here at Perfect Teeth we can offer various and combined treatments to aid in skin rejuvenation and improved dento-facial aesthetics.
Each of our clients will undergo a FREE consultation which will be based around current skin care regimes and product use. It can be overwhelming finding a product that suits your skin care needs due to saturation of products available on the market. We are able to offer medical grade skin care products that you will not find over the counter, which have evidence based science behind the success in treating and targeting certain skin types and conditions. We strongly recommend having a home based skin care regime that will complement all facial procedures we offer, therefore results will be long lasting!
Here at Perfect Teeth we use injectables which are clinically proven to be the most effective. These medications are sterile, pharmaceutical-grade proteins that target part of the mechanism involved in muscle contraction. When administered to a target muscle, the ability of that muscle to contract with the same strength, is reduced. The higher the dose of medication, the greater the reduction of muscle contraction. While the medication is eliminated from your body rapidly, the effect will last from several weeks to several months depending on the circumstances. After this time, the effects will completely wear off and the muscle will regain the ability to function as normal. Areas commonly treated with injectables include, forehead lines, crowsfeet, gummy smile, under-eyes and TMJ dysfunction (grinding & clenching).
We commonly use Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers as it is derived from a natural protein that is already present in the skin, which is where it plays an important structural role. It is a safe and effective way of adding volume to certain areas of the face or enhancing facial contour. Dermal fillers can be seen almost immediately once injected and lasts between 4-6 months. We commonly use dermal fillers in conjunction with other skin care treatments to ensure the skin is at its healthiest to allow long lasting, optimal results. Whilst most of our dermal fillers contain anaesthetic within them, we also use both a topical and a local anaesthetic depending on the treatment area. Treatment only takes 10-15 minutes with very few side effects, making it easy for you to do in your lunch break! Its normal to have slight bleeding at the site of injection, and on some occasions mild bruising or swelling of the area can occur. Here at Perfect Teeth we are at the forefront of leading innovations and we are now able to create a dermal filler from a simple blood draw. We then use the latest technology to turn your blood into a natural dermal filler that will eliminate any possibility for side effects or allergy.
We are one of the first in cairns to be offering CGF treatments! This procedure is highly innovative and increases treatment results whilst reducing healing time! Concentrated growth factor is a procedure that uses your own regenerative abilities to enhance the formation of collagen, reducing lines and wrinkles, acne scaring, pigmentation and active acne. It begins with us taking your blood and placing it into a centrifuge to separate the platelet growth factors from the red blood cells. We then isolate the stem cells and platelet rich plasma and microneedle the formula back into the dermis, sending the collagen into hyperdrive. CGF can also be used in the mouth for various regenerative purposes.
Microneedling is a treatment which stimulates normal collagen production by using fine medical needles that create tiny micro-punctures on the skins surface layer. In response to the micro- punctures the skin cells release a series of growth factors and proteins which promote the production of both collagen and elastin. Microneedling treatment is used in conjunction with other skin therapies and can take anywhere from 3-8 appointments 3 to 4 weeks apart to see desired results. Acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation, freckles, scars and stretch marks can all be treated with microneedling. CGF is commonly paired with microneedling therapy to improve treatment results, and reduce healing time. Topical anaesthetic is applied to the face and neck prior to treatment to aid with pain management, however ask one of our team members on other pain relief techniques we offer. You can expect the skin to appear red and flushed prior to treatment and feel hot up to 24 hours post treatment.
